Meet the dogs

zippy

Zippy is a 9 year old working sheepdog.  She is the only dog in the country to have won into KC Grades 2 and 3, UKA Novice Classes and competed in 2 National Finals whilst being handled from a  wheelchair.  Zippy is currently competing at KC Grade 4 and UKA Novice.

BINKY

Binky is a 6 year old working sheepdog, with just a hint of spaniel. Winning one of her classes by a staggering 6 seconds, on her day she has the ability to make dog agility look deceptively easy, decrying the hours of training it actually takes. Binky is currently competing at KC Grade 3 and UKA Novice.

Boogie

Boogie is a 2 year old Border Collie.  She had her first competition in January 2011.  Boogie is learning all the same things as other agility dogs, then learning to do them all at a distance as well.

Boogie will be competing at KC Grade 3 and UKA Beginners.

sammy

Sammy is a 14 year old working sheepdog.  Philippas first agility dog, he had phenomenal object focus.  Malformed hip sockets lead to his early retirement, but not unitl Philippa had been well and truly bitten by the agility bug!

What Philippas fellow competitors say about her:

‘Inspirational.’  ‘F*****g awesome.’  ‘She brings a tear to my eye.’  ‘She’s my favourite competitor to watch … because of what she can do with her dogs’ and ‘she’s a natural motivator of her dogs’.  Philippa was somewhat taken aback the first time she was chased across a Show Ground to watch run.  She says she’s ‘just doing it differently’.

Training and Advice:

Having developed her own reward based distance handling methods Philippa is available as a guest trainer for 1-2-1 and/or group training.  She fine tunes her training to individual needs and can offer training plans to enable people to reach their own goals.

She is also happy to share her experiences of finding a suitable, reliable wheelchair, adapting it for agility, sourcing her ‘techno van’, finding accessible training venues, practice fields, Show Grounds…..

Philippa is available for talks and demonstrations.
